Rossella Biscotti, born in Molfetta in 1978, lives and works in Rotterdam. Starting from social and political history, Rossella Biscotti's work transforms and modifies truth through a variety of mediums: sound, film, sculpture and fabric. She the artist uses a documentary-style aesthetic to highlight the impossibility of fully accounting for a truth that has been told to us and heralds a heterogeneous trans-social theory that affirms multiple realities. Her work questions how objectivity is easily given to historical documents and legal actions and she considers the past as an effective vector of possible change. Biscotti's work reflects the active role that art plays in the construction of contemporary knowledge, questioning the legitimacy of history and of those from whom it was built.
